Single and continuous speed bump:

There are basically two types of speed bumps; single and continuous.

  • In case of single-speed bumps. as the name suggests, a single obstruction is laid down on the road. It can be made of cement, fiber plastic or polymer. The single-speed bumps are usually found on city roads, with a considerable volume of traffic. These types of speed bumps are usually located a couple of meters ahead of turnings, traffic signals, and crossings
  • When it comes to continuous speed bumps, you would find four to five of them one after another. These bumps are mainly used on highways, where there are less traffic and drivers tend to keep pressing their accelerators. These speed bumps play a very important role in keeping the speed within a limit and making sure that that you never cross the red line, which can cause accidents and other kinds of mishaps.

So, next time you come across a speed bump, instead of trying to fly over it, make sure that that you crossed it gently so that the parts of your car remain unaffected and the ones inside the car do not feel any sort of physical discomfort.
